CO2-Based Cleaning Process
The Fred Butler "deep fresh" cleaning process is based on the use of recycled liquid CO
2 and biodegradable cleaning agents - a revolutionary and eco-friendly process that is free from polluting residues and is proven to be kinder to fibres and colours. Textiles have a longer life, and the use of natural gas protects the environment

Areas of application
Fred Butler provides all the services of a classic dry cleaner – but uses an eco-friendly method that's kind to textiles. The CO
2 method is also suitable for a wide range of dry-cleaning problems, including
- cleaning protective clothing
- cleaning soiled textiles and materials after fire and water damage
- cleaning delicate and costly theatre costumes
- cleaning corporate fashion and hired clothing
- cleaning in all areas of the hotel, catering and restaurant industries
- cleaning home textiles, particularly textiles with which allergy sufferers come into contact. After CO2 cleaning, textiles are proven to be free from residues of mite infestation or mould. For this reason, SGS Fresenius Institut expressly recommends Fred Butler.
Fred Butler works with industry partners and other research institutes on an ongoing basis to develop further areas of application for the Fred Butler CO
2 cleaning process.
The Franchise System

Fred Butler chose the image of a penguin in a tailcoat to symbolize its service orientation. Customer relations are our passion. Our network of branches includes stores in central locations, convenient to the places where our customers live and work. In addition, shop-in-shops are positioned in locations including shopping centres, authorized partner stores and fashion stores including Hirmer, Munich tailoring company Mangas Maßkonfektion and Konen. Fred Butler also offers flexible terms of business based on individual needs to environmentally aware companies and key customers.
History
The Linde Group's innovative cleaning process was introduced in Sweden and Holland in 2004, and in Denmark in 2005. In 2007, after further testing, the first CO
2 cleaning plant in Germany opened in Frankfurt am Main. Other branches in Germany include Munich, Düsseldorf and Rosenheim.
